Having a strong social media presence for a brand is no longer an option, it’s a necessity. Social Media channels are growing daily, and every minute you’re not building and growing your company’s social presence, is a disservice to your business. However, there are two things we need to point out. 1) It’s not too late! You can build your brand’s image at any stage. 2) If it has not worked for you in the past, don’t worry, you may not have been utilizing it correctly.
There are several reasons in which social media marketing is affordable, but the largest one for our team is the ease of accessibility. 91% of customers, social media browsers, access their social media accounts from mobile apps (Lyfemarketing, 2018). People take their smart phones with them everywhere and at any point in the day can access your brands content. Your audience is already there for you, you don’t have to chase them down, but rather just need to deliver content.
If you are not already aware, cost-per-click (CPC), or pay-per-click (PPC), simply means the cost for a click on your ad. A click taking the end-user to your website or profile most of the time. The average CPC for Instagram is anywhere between $0.20 and $2. While, the average CPC for Facebook is about $0.80. The great thing about utilizing advertising on these platforms is that you can set your daily budget for your campaign and adjust accordingly when reviewing the cost-per-click (CPC) (Lyfemarketing, 2018).
We can all agree that what you don’t know, you don’t know. With that being said, there is a learning curve that comes with marketing on social media channels. Once you have practiced with Facebook Ad Manager and understand what your ideal audience is, social media marketing is quite efficient. In fact, it is not any harder than traditional marketing efforts, but rather more productive. With social media marketing, you can build and select your target audience, meaning you aren’t wasting your budget advertising your products or services to people who are not interested.
As of 2019, roughly 45% of the population is on social media (Emarsys, 2019). With the average person spending 3 hours a day on social media.*Que Apple Screen Usage Reports* In addition, 54% of social media browsers, your customers, say that they use social media to research a product or service (Globalwebindex, 2019). No matter what your target market is, you customers are out scrolling through social media and if your business is not on there engaging with them, you’re missing out.
Odds are, it’s true! With traditional marketing efforts, it is often difficult for smaller businesses to compete against larger businesses in the space. However, social media marketing levels the playing field. Social media marketing allows businesses to bypass non-customers and compete head to head with the competition. Regardless of your ad budget, you can add that personal and authentic touch your customers love.
There are many ways to build brand loyalty through social media. Some of the most common options are through reviews and influencers. We know that the use of common day influencers may not be in your budget or make sense for your small business, however, sharing customer success stories and reviews can act in the same manner. Sharing an installation done by a customer can allow your audience to trust the product or service that much more. In addition, sharing reviews from Facebook, Yelp, or Google not only builds that customer trust, but sets up a great brand image for your business.
